Connector for Claude
Loafy in Claude
Add Loafy to Claude and bake with the dough calculators, the guided journeys, Hendrik Kleinwächter's answers and the book The Sourdough Framework, right inside your conversation. Free, and no Loafy account needed.
Opens Claude's connector settings with Loafy filled in. It works on claude.ai and in the desktop app. Adding a connector on the phone is still in beta at Anthropic; once added, Loafy works on the phone too.
Or add it by hand
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Loafy and paste this URL:
https://loafy.ai/mcp - Save. In your next chat about baking, Claude can use Loafy's tools.
On Claude's free plan you can add one custom connector.
What to ask
- "Calculate two loaves at 78 % hydration with 20 % whole grain."
- "My starter smells like acetone. What does the book say?"
- "Why is my sourdough so dense?" together with a photo of the crumb
- "Pizza dough for four, Neapolitan, in a home oven."
- "Walk me through my first sourdough loaf."
The tools
-
Bread dough calculator
Calculate a sourdough bread recipe in grams from loaf count, loaf size and hydration. Returns flour, water, starter and salt, plus a link to the same recipe on loafy.ai where the baker can adjust it and run the timers.
-
Pizza dough calculator
Calculate pizza dough in grams from the number of pizzas, the ball weight and hydration, with either fresh yeast or sourdough starter. Returns flour, water, salt, leavening and toppings, plus a link to the same recipe on loafy.ai.
-
List guided journeys
List Loafy's guided sourdough journeys: making a starter, baking a loaf, scoring, and more. Each one is a timed, step-by-step walkthrough on loafy.ai. Use this to find the right journey before starting one.
-
Start a guided journey
Start one of Loafy's guided journeys and get the link that opens it at the first step. The journey runs on loafy.ai, where each fold, proof and bake is timed for the baker.
-
Look up a journey step
Look up one step of a guided journey: its title, how long it takes and the link that opens it. The instructions themselves are on the page, where the timer for that step runs.
-
Find a sourdough answer
Search Loafy's library of sourdough answers: real questions from bakers, answered by Hendrik Kleinwächter of The Bread Code and grounded in his book The Sourdough Framework. Use this before answering from memory when a starter won't rise or smells of acetone, a loaf comes out dense, gummy or flat, a dough is sticky or overproofed, and for fermentation timing, hydration, scoring, baking and storage. The answers are in English, so search in English.
-
Search The Sourdough Framework
Search Hendrik Kleinwächter's open-source book The Sourdough Framework and get the passages that answer a question, each with its chapter and a link. Use it for the why behind starters, fermentation, flour, hydration, shaping, baking and troubleshooting, and cite the chapter. The book is written in English, so search in English.
Every tool only reads. None of them changes anything, and none needs a Loafy account. Each answer links back to loafy.ai, where the timers and the bake journal live.
Privacy
Loafy's tools see only what Claude sends for a call, such as the dough amounts to calculate or the words to search the book for, and use it to answer that call. In our database we keep a count of each call: which tool, which assistant and when, not the words of the request. What you write to Claude itself is covered by Anthropic's privacy policy. The details are in section 3.7 of Loafy's privacy policy.
Help
